Happy 4th!

For the 4th we decided to head a few hours east to Atlanta Georgia. Although it was on a Sunday, it was so fun to get away for the day with the boys not having to work. We went to church then headed out to enjoy ATL. We went to the mall to check out what they had to offer then went and got dinner to eat a park close by. We enjoyed some K.F.C then decided we couldn’t really see where the fireworks would go off so we headed back toward the mall. We found a great spot close enough but far enough away to avoid major traffic. We snuck up onto a church parking garage, it ended up being just the few of us and two other random couples. Perfect. Quiet and with a close view of the fireworks. We were afraid that the loud noise would be too loud for Deacon, but he handled it nicely. It was loud and scared him at first but then he ended up just staring at them. We had a great time in ATL. Because we were only there for a few hours we missed out on actually seeing a lot there, so we’ll have to go back someday!

You Say its your Birthday...

Jason is getting old. He turned 27 this year. Instead of taking the day off to play, he was diligent and worked until it was dark. The guys were all working in a town about an hour away, so it was hard to really plan much with them getting back kind of late (& not wanting to put Deacon down for bed super late, and with Deacon and I having just got back in town late the night before). We decided to do a barbeque-it was so nice that the extend-a-stay hotel we were staying at had one.

While they were out working all day, Deacon and I went to work to prepare for a party when they returned. We made a happy birthday banner, got balloons, a piñata, made potato salad, marinated some meat, and went shopping for the perfect birthday gifts. We had a fun time putting everything together. When they all got back we headed down for a BBQ, followed by cupcakes and a few turns at the Transformer piñata before it busted open with candy& chocolate & little toys flying everywhere.

A big thanks to Terin for climbing the roof of the ramada and holding the piñata, to Josh for the cupcakes, and the Halls for drinks. And everyone for coming to celebrate Jasons birthday!!

Here’s to MANY more birthdays to come!

Happy Birthday Love!
