Trimming the Tree

Last year I bought a pass for us to cut down our own tree up in Payson. {although our tree ended up being a little "Charlie Brown-like" we loved it. And it was a really fun thing we got to do as a family.}
We missed the deadline for that this year, so we headed to Costco and picked one up December 1st. It was a great price and it looked good. It was all tied up, so we really had no idea what it was going to look like. We were impressed. But we think if we do that next year, we'll have figure out what we did wrong this year because it died about 2 weeks after we got it. :(
It still smelled good and didnt look completely horrible until the day after Christmas..I like to keep Christmas up until the 1st of January, but to prevent our house from burning down, that tree was taken down the day after Christmas.

Helping Daddy.

After we brought the tree inside, we found Deacon doing a little trimming himself.
We found him about every day for the month with his toy saw, sawing at the tree. "I fix it Mommy."

The finished project.
And yes, my perfectionism kicked in after seeing this picture and those lights, 'cranberry' strands and a few ornaments were adjusted numerous times to try and get them looking somewhat right.
I found this "Grinch-like" branch on our tree. {How weird and fun at the same time.} And the only way to get a decent picture of it was to take it from above.
